I have been asked to write two pieces for the 4th ed. of the Encyclopedia of Computer Science. The first is an update of what I wrote for the 3rd ed., namely "Computer Games, Arcade," and I have already finished that one.
The second, which is new this edition, is called "PC Videogames." Specifically, it should be about games on CD-ROM for multimedia PC's, but of course this must be tied in to the history of current computer games, including Pong and Nintendo/Atari dedicated game machines.
I am having trouble doing the research because there is no written material (at least none that I can find) that provides the usual required stuff; dates, manufacturers and content. If any of you would like to fill me in on this or to point me at good sources I would greatly appreciate it. My deadline is March 15th and I can't get off square one. Fortunately, I think what I am asking for fits into the "History of Cyberspace" theme of this group.
Thanks,
