Community Memory: Discussion List on the History of Cyberspace ______________________________________________________________________

[From moderator: the following message came my way, which should be of interest to the list.]

Dear David,

I just finished reading your article in the Fall,1996 issue of CPSR about the "community memory" (I am a little behind). I have written a "quick" history of HCI innovations, which seems relevant to your project, since it includes many early systems and names of the people involved.

This article has been submitted for publication, but in the mean-time, it is a CMU technical report.

You might make the readers of your web page and/or your mailing list aware of it.

Brad A. Myers. A Brief History of Human Computer Interaction Technology. Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science Technical Report CMU-CS-96-163 and Human Computer Interaction Institute Technical Report CMU-HCII-96-103, Dec.1996.

I would appreciate feedback with corrections and new ideas, since it will certainly be revised before appearing in a journal.

Sincerely,

Brad A. Myers
