I "grew up" hearing ENIAC pronounced with the E as in ENJOY; i.e.,
"EH-nee-ack." I met John Mauchley in the summer of 1976 at a History of
Computing Conference held at Los Alamos Nat. Lab., and my recollection is
that he pronounced it that way.
