Insofar as bugs is concerned, it was used by Edison in the sense of technical glitches. I once wrote a piece on ``bug'' -- if anyone cares, I'd be willing to regenerate it over Xmas. Grace Hopper's bug is the first computer bug, but neither is a moth a bug (entomologically) nor is that the first bug (etymologically).
