Walk-thru
To walk-thru the house, you must first know about the doors. Five of the house doors are used for entry and exit purposes:
- The oval glass inset in the oak front door looks into the foyer. This door is used by guests who arrive for formal entertaining (i.e. our annual day before the day before Christmas party), by acquaintances, and occasional door-to-door salesmen.
- Two doors lead into the yard from the sun room: one is a person door; one is a dog door.
- Both garage doors provide entrance via the mudroom. Since there are no keys for any of the five doors, the garage doors serve as the principal entrance for our family.
- Finally, the mudroom door in the back, driveway side of the house is how our neighbors and friends find entry and exit.
Just off of the upstairs foyer are three of the house’s four bedrooms and one bathroom. If you are standing at the top of the steps looking toward the front of the house, Kristen's bedroom is to the left. Straight ahead is Jordan’s bedroom. Back at the top of the stairs is the white tiled bathroom. Further to right of the bathroom is Trey's bedroom. The master bedroom is off and to the left of the downstairs foyer(if you have just entered the front door). The house runs in a circular pattern around the stairwell. To the right of the foyer is the: Conversely, straight ahead from the foyer is the: As toddlers, our teenagers once thought this traffic pattern was an indoor track of sorts. Now, our dogs and the cat have deemed it so. Just to the left of the kitchen is a rose tiled bathroom and a large family room. Though the family room is not a part of the house’s circular pattern, this room is a popular gathering area. To the right of the family room are French doors leading into the sun room.
