The Conversion:
- Sold the piano & maple table
- Added a mock Oriental rug (navy)
- Moved green/burgandy sofa & loveseat from family room
- Moved green, leather recliner from family room
- Added antique white roll-top desk
- Added Hope Chest (oak finish)
- Added glass-top coffee table with wooden tennis racquet stand
The white, ornamental mantle outlining the fireplace on the wall backing up to the kitchen gave the area the ambiance for a reading room. I papered the walls in a muted navy below the white chair rail and a matching navy, green, and burgandy stripe above and added lace panels to the four windows (three of those in bay formation).
On the far wall is Jordan's black & white senior picture. On the wall opposite is a collage of pictures of my brothers and me when we were toddlers.
Just two months ago, we gave the sofa & loveseat to a neighbor and replaced the rug. So, until we purchase new furniture, the first person who gets to the recliner gets to curl of with a good book!
