Story
This room is busiest when we entertain. We fold the Quaker bench into a table and dress it up with a tablecloth.
Both sides of our family come together here for Thanksgiving (35-40 people) and the table offers a buffet of sorts:
- Turkey & Dressing
- Corn Pudding
- Mashed Potatoes
- Sweet Potatoe Casserole
- Green Beans
- Salad w/great grandma's homemade Italian dressing
- Homemade Rolls
- Homemade Apple and Pumpkin Pies
At our annual Day before the Day before Christmas party, over 100 guests (all families) visit. Adjacent to the table (in the middle of the three windows) is our 9 foot Frazier Fir decked out in colored lights and gold and white ribbon with wide gold bows. The table, along with every other table in the house, offers a selection of hors d'oeuvres. Among them you may find:
- Bruschetta
- Pork Tenderloin
- Meatballs & Sauce
- Wings
- Chocolate Fondue w/angel food chunks & strawberries
- Christmas Sugar Cookies
- Santas
- Stars
- Christmas Trees
- Candy Canes
- Santas
This room becomes a Rockwell portrait at Christmastime, full of laughing people backlit with a huge Christmas tree and a staircase lined with burgandy and gold ribbons woven through pine.
